Abstract:

So far, aviation has focused on risk and resilience to economic crises, safety and security threats from terrorism and pandemics, and adaptation to climate change crises. New forms of mobility on the ground and in the air, as well as rapid electrification and sustainable aviation fuel, give rise to many newer risks and resilience concerns that the aviation industry is not fully prepared due to numerous uncertainties involved. This presentation will highlight these risks and resilience considerations as we pace toward non-fossil fueled or electrified aviation and will provide insights into the consequences and how to mitigate adverse impacts. This discussion is imperative so we do not have chaotic and compromised aviation development and operation.
