Resource limitations are challenges for the state of Georgia. In this session, we will discuss how GDOT tackles these limitations through innovation and collaboration. You’ll hear from our bridge office about efforts to collaborate with local sponsors on supporting Bridge Replacement Programs like the Low Impact Bridge Program (LIBP) for rural areas, and the Local Bridge Replacement Program (LOCBR) for more complex areas. In the area of environmental collaboration, information on how GDOT’s Office of Interagency Office of Environmental Quality (IOEQ) is creating a culture of collaboration between GDOT and multiple state, and federal agencies for high-quality and efficient environmental processes. In addition, we will discuss workforce development programs like the incorporation of BlueBeam to improve review practices, collaboration, and transference of knowledge, and RAPID (Roadway Design’s Accelerated Program for Individual Development).
