Marcus Januario has more than 25 years of experience in the various aspects of transportation project development. Marcus has worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from a small network to complex interchanges and corridors, both in rural and urban environments. He has been involved in transportation planning and all aspects of traffic engineering, including traffic operations analysis, modeling, and crash analysis and safety assessment.
He has worked with freeway operations, corridor studies, access studies, intersection analysis, traffic impact studies, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking, traffic control and geometric design. He also has experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems, including design of field elements, systems analysis and design. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, Iowa Sections, where he is the chair of membership.
Marcus is also passionate about transportation research and since 2009 he has been involved with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) activities, contributing to several committees. He was an appointed member of the ACP55 Committee on Traffic Control Devices, and is currently an appointed member of the ACP40 Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service, leading the Workforce on Urban Streets. He has also been involved in the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) being appointed to the panel of NCHRP 15-43, NCHRP 15-47, NCHRP 07-28, NCHRP 03-136, NCHRP 17-98, and NCHRP 17-99.
