Rupa Anne is a Ph.D. student at the Autonomous and Connected Transportation (ACT) Lab, Georgia Tech. Her research is at the intersection of human behavior, emerging transportation modes, and decarbonization. Throughout her doctoral studies, she has actively contributed to numerous NSF-funded projects, DOT initiatives, and CCAT projects. Her thesis is dedicated to the critical topic of facilitating decarbonization within the transportation sector. In her thesis, she investigates methods to reduce travelers’ carbon footprint by promoting sustainable modes and routes using behavioral interventions that are equitable and sustainable. This involves exploring a range of behavioral interventions, encompassing both financial and non-financial incentives, as well as qualitative elements like badges and gamification, and quantitative data such as step/calorie counts. Complementing her research, she is developing a prototype mobile app to implement these interventions, with a specific focus on the City of Peachtree Corners, GA.
