Arthur Lima obtained his BS in Civil Engineering in 2015 from the Federal University of Viçosa in Brazil with a portion of his studies conducted at the University of Waterloo in Canada. He obtained his MS in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017 focusing on rail infrastructure research. He is currently a Research Engineer with RailTEC at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he helps manage rail infrastructure research. Mr. Lima currently serves as Secretary of AREMA Committee 30 – Ties and Fasteners and is an active member of the APTA Track/Noise and Vibration Technical Forum. His research interests involve all aspects of rail civil infrastructure, from either the materials, components, or structures perspective.
