Dr. Bondada started this ASCE's International Conferences on APMs series in 1985 by organizing the first conference in Miami, FL. He was involved in ten Downtown People Mover (DPM) feasibility studies including the presently operating three DPMs in Detroit, Jacksonville, and Miami. He received ASCE's Frank Master Transportation Engineering Award for Research, Planning, and Design of APMS. He chaired ASCE's three technical committees on APMs, Public Transportation, and High-Speed Ground Transportation Systems. He served on ASCE's Urban Transportaion Division Executive Committee and was on the Board of Transportaion & Development Institute. He has over 50 years of consulting experience in urban Transportation Engineering and Planning. He has bachelor's degree in civil engineering, two master's degrees in city Planning and Transportation Engineering and Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering. Dr. Bondada is a registered professional engineer in Florida. He was on the Florida State Board of Professional Engineers. He was in India Fulbright Senior Research Scholar for one year and as Fulbright Specialist in Urban Planning for 40 days.
