Daniel P. Aldrich is full professor of political science and Director of the Security and Resilience Studies Program at Northeastern University. He researches post-disaster recovery, countering violent extremism, the siting of controversial facilities and the interaction between civil society and the state. He has held posts as a Fulbright Research Fellow and an Abe Fellow at Tokyo University and as an AAAS Science and Technology Fellow with USAID. Aldrich is a contributor to the New York Times, CNN, The Conversation, and the Asahi Shinbun, among other media.
