Collin is a graduate research assistant and current PhD student in SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering. His Civil Engineering PhD is focused on transportation systems. His research focus is the intersection of race, transportation and environmental justice, infrastructure development, and community engagement. Collin previously spent seven years as an engineer in the utility industry and is a registered Professional Engineer. He serves on the board of the Dallas Mexican American Historical League and volunteers in other environmental justice advocacy capacities across Dallas. Collin recently published a book about infrastructure inequality in Dallas, “Paved a Way: Infrastructure, Policy, and Racism in an American City.”
