Major Projects Program Manager

Ben Lempke serves as the Major Projects Program Manager for the GDOT’s Office of Traffic Operations where he is tasked with delivering large, complex projects with an emphasis in traffic systems management and operations.
Ben joined GDOT’s Office of Traffic Operations in 2019, after graduating with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech. He began his GDOT career in the Signal Operations Program (SigOps), where he managed the multi-jurisdictional signal timing program responsible for the operations of over 300 of metro-Atlanta’s busiest intersections, worked closely with GDOT District Offices and local agencies to maintain these signals, and managed the flashing-yellow arrow upgrade program.
In 2021, Ben had the opportunity to join GDOT’s ITS program, where he oversaw the State’s comprehensive ITS maintenance contract, worked closely with GDOT Offices and local agencies to program and design ITS projects, and served as the ITS subject matter expert for the State’s Major Mobility Investment Program (MMIP) projects.
In Ben’s current role, he manages GDOT’s Statewide Broadband Program, where he is responsible for the procurement and delivery of these projects.
