Rossana D’Antonio is a licensed civil and geotechnical engineer and served as Deputy Director for Los Angeles County Public Works, the largest public works agency in the nation. Her experience in infrastructure design and emergency management augments her knowledge of how complex systems work and how deficient infrastructure can result in disasters.
As part of the American Society of Civil Engineers contingency she advocates for infrastructure investments including the Federal Aviation Authority Reauthorization. The bill increases funding for aviation infrastructure and advances the safe and efficient delivery of aviation projects.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Fresno State and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Rossana holds dual registrations in the State of California in Civil and Geotechnical Engineering. She is also credentialed as an Envision Sustainability Professional with the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, providing a globally recognized approach to the design of safe and sustainable infrastructure.
In 2020, D’Antonio was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists where she currently works to ensure protection of the public with competent and ethical professional services. She believes strongly in giving back to the profession. D’Antonio is a Fellow with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is serving as a member of the Board of Directors. She is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and the American Public Works Association.
D’Antonio is a member of the Women’s Media Center SheSource which is a brain trust for media experienced experts. She has been featured as a guest on radio, digital media, and is published in print and online. D’Antonio is often featured as a speaker at conferences.
Shaped by her Italian and Salvadoran parents, D’Antonio is deeply committed to family and understands the value of creating an environment in which everyone feels safe and protected. She finds peace in Malibu where she resides with her husband, Freddie, and puppy, Luna.
