Muhammad Faizan Asghar is a Ph.D. candidate in system engineering with a concentration in civil engineering at the University of Louisiana (UL) at Lafayette. Prior to joining UL Lafayette, he worked as a Lab Engineer where he was responsible for conducting materials tests and measurements according to prescribed specifications and procedural guidelines (ASTM/AASHTO). He joined UL Lafayette as a Ph.D. student in Spring 2020 and since then he has worked as a graduate research assistant in civil engineering department. His research at UL Lafayette focusses on development of high performing novel transportation materials. He is also an associate member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) , Transportation Research Board (TRB) and Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE).
