As Solution Director for APM systems for Alstom, Joe oversees the solution strategy for APM systems globally, identifying development priorities, maintaining an overview of current projects and systems, as well as consolidating return of experience from existing systems. Joe has more than 25 years of experience in train control applications, with a focus on Unattended Transit Systems and Communications Based Train Control (CBTC), including applications for APM systems. Joe led the development of Alstom's CBTC System, CityFlo 650, in the 1990s, and holds a patent for the positioning system for a moving block systems. Subsequently, Joe managed the CityFlo 650 CBTC software development teams for both wayside and on-board software, and eventually became the Manager of Technical Solutions for CityFlo 650, globally. Joe graduated from the University of Pittsburg with a BS in Computer Science and has 10 years experience int eh defense industry developing simulation systems prior to joining Alstom.
