Md Mobasshir Rashid is currently working as Graduate Research Assistant at University of Central Florida (UCF). The major focus of his Ph.D. research is transportation engineering. He focuses on how emerging datasets can be used in different sectors such as network-level traffic prediction, analyzing people's evacuation behavior during natural disasters by using social media dataset, and integrated corridor-level traffic management.
Before joining UCF, Mobasshir completed his MS in Civil Engineering from Florida State University (FSU), where he published a journal paper on pedestrian safety during interaction with autonomous shuttle bus. He also worked on developing a safe pedestrian-autonomus vehicle interaction framework via simulation to achieve his MS degree.
Mobasshir completed his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Islamic University of Technology in Bangladesh. He published several conference papers from his undergrad research in the prestigious Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Conferences.
Mobasshir loves to play soccer, watch movies and tv series during his leisure time. He would like to complete his PhD and contribute in developing a safe transportation system for the society.
