Ainalem Nega, Ph.D., is a Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Queensland in Australia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Curtin University in 2016 and Master of Engineering Science (M.Eng.Sc.) at the University of Western Australia in 2011. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in 2008 from the Curtin University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nairobi in 2003. Dr. Nega has published 29 papers in refereed journal articles and international conference proceedings. His research interests are focused on civil engineering and pavement materials engineering, highway and airfield pavement mechanics, advanced modeling including viscoelastic response to traffic loading, pavement design, pavement fracture, assessment pavement performance, engineering pavement management systems, pavement condition assessment, and modeling of pavement interface and layer. Dr. Nega is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the International Society for Asphalt Pavements.
