Dr. Guolong Wang just completed his Ph.D. degree at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in civil engineering. His research focus in the last few years has been on application of Deep-Learning techniques on automated pavement and bridge surveys and has published several peer-reviewed journal papers in the relevant areas. The specific applications of his research were in the safety evaluation of pavement and bridges based on sub-mm and deep-sub-mm 3D laser imaging. In the recent two years, he worked on applying Super Resolution techniques based on AI and achieved initial success in enhancing data resolution in 3D for pavement safety evaluation. He has developed substantial coding experience in GPU-based software development on various Deep-Learning platforms which were the basis for his published papers. He has obtained employment at Montana State University from Jan 2024 as a full-time research staff at the Western Transportation Institute.
