Dr. Charles E. Williams Jr. is a professional civil engineer with twenty-seven years of experience in private consulting, state, municipal and federal organizations. Dr. Williams has served as the Interim Director, Director of Public of Public Works, City Engineer, and other various management positions during his tenure with the City of Jackson’s Public Works Department for over 20 years. He retired in May 2022. He is currently employed as a Research Civil Engineer at the Engineering Research & Develop Center (ERDC) with the Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS.
Dr. Williams is a distinguished graduate of the University of Mississippi (B.S.C.E., 1996), Mississippi State University (M.S.C.E., 2000), Belhaven University (MBA, 2003), and the University of Alabama (PhD, Civil Engineering, 2013). He is a member of Chi Epsilon Engineering Honor Society, and the author of several published engineering articles.
Dr. Williams is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.
