Farangis Kakar (Frankie) is a civil engineer from Afghanistan. She came to USA in 2013 with a bachelor's degree and poor English language skills. She started her MBA in 2016 and started her first job as a CAD technician with a small firm. over the years she was able to master her skills in Rail design and become a top Rail engineer in the bay area. She is now working as Project manager with the international firm "WSP" and is part of the major rail and transit projects such as Link21, Valley link, High Speed rail and BART.
As an immigrant, her story is an inspiration for millions of immigrants who come to USA with high hopes and usually end up doing labor works in restaurants or factories.
Her goal is to build a bridge between the highly educated immigrants who are usually underseen, and the industry where they are looking for talented people to help themc complete their projects.
