Dr. Cavalline leads a research group that focuses on concrete and cementitious materials research for durable and sustainable concrete infrastructure. Supporting the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) with much of her research, her team has active and completed projects in the areas of concrete pavements, concrete bridges, concrete recycling, beneficial reuse of residual and waste materials, and asset management systems. She serves on the Technical Advisory Committee of FHWA’s Concrete Recycling Initiative, and leadership positions in several professional organizations, including TRB and ACI. She is a registered professional engineer in several states.
