Kevin Heaslip, Ph.D., PE is a Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering and the Director of the Center for Transportation Research at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Dr. Heaslip conducts research in Transportation Operations, Infrastructure Resilience, Critical Infrastructure Security, and Cybersecurity. His research group works in the Secure Transport Operations Lab.
He is currently leading efforts in linking transportation electrification, automation, and security to smart cities approaches for major metropolitan areas.
Dr. Heaslip has published 64 peer reviewed journal articles, 67 conference proceedings, 26 technical reports, and has been invited to give 56 presentations to professional groups. He has been the lead PI for over $9 million of research and has been involved in projects with the value of over $35 million.
